GA2LEN Anaphylaxis INitiative

European Anaphylaxis Taskforce (EAT)

Introduction

An organisation which co-ordinates stakeholder interests on all aspects of anaphylaxis is now available in Europe.

Although there are (inter)national organisations who are dealing with specific aspects of allergy in Europe. Some of them are patients support groups and some of them are professional organisations focused on the scientific side of the specific aspects. For instance in Europe is one professional organisation which is focused on the scientific research on allergy: the EAACI (European Academy of Allergology and clinical Immunology).  But now there is an European organisation who will combine all the forces who must deal with their various aspects of the only life threatening allergic reaction in the whole allergy field: Anaphylaxis

Like the Netherlands Anaphylaxis Network (NAN), the Anaphylaxis Campaign (AC) and Food Allergia Italia (FAI), EAT will have evidence based medicine as a fundament for their operations.

EAT will be a flexible and client focused organisation based on the combination of scientific, technological knowledge and patient experience.

The NAN, the AC, the AA and FAI are the core members of EAT, thus enabling EAT to use all the experience and resources of their organisations and to participate in the projects in which the organisations are members and be part of the created network.
The other members come from medical research institutes and allergy clinicians, pharmaceutical, bio-technical, food and insurance industry or from other scientific non-profit organisations like GAIN (GA2LEN), ILSI, EUFIC.

From now on this web site will be filled with information on how to manage anaphylaxis. Whether you are working as a researcher, clinician, allied health professional, in the food - or pharmaceutical industry or as a policy maker for national or EU governmental bodies, EAT is here for you!
